Lumia 530 Dual SIM - Review
Yesterday, I got my hands on a brand new Lumia 530. It has been released in the market, recently. The phone is completely made up of plastic but it doesn't feel less expensive. The subtly curved edges of the Lumia 530 make it feel ergonomic.
The phone is packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 Quad-Core processor running at 1.2 GHz with 512 MB of RAM. It features a 4-inches screen with resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. The extra 54 pixels are for the on-screen buttons. It has 4 GB on-board storage with the support for microSD card upto 128 GB. The phone supports dual-SIM. There is a 5 mega pixel fixed-focus rear camera (no flash). The two SIM cards can connect to 3G networks. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 are the other connectivity options. A 1430 mAh battery provides the power for the phone to work. The new Lumia 530 is already running the latest version of Windows Phone OS i.e. 8.1
Microsoft has cut corners by fitting a TFT LCD instead of IPS. There is no proximity sensor and the phone has fixed focus camera. There is also no Double Tap-to-Wake feature. and the device is fully made up of plastic. However, the phone's performance is same as any other Lumia. It's smooth and I did not feel any lag or stuttering.
Microsoft has done a great job in providing a budget phone. I believe that Lumia 530 can emerge as a winner in the battle of best budget smartphone. At the moment the Lumia 530 Dual SIM is available for around Rs. 13,000. The price is low for a phone that can provide a decent smartphone experience. If you want to have a smartphone within minimum range, the Lumia 530 is your best option. I personally feel that this phone is better than the other low cost phones which are available in the market.
The Lumia 630 and the Lumia 520 have seen price drops. These two older phones are other options if you don't mind spending a little more.
